記者稱，話雖如此，但沒人能預料到雄鹿會騰出空間簽下特納。一旦他們能騰出空間，他們給出的報價就能比步行者的要高。在上周，里德和森林狼續(xù)約，這已經讓步行者和特納的談判變得復雜。作為一支總決賽球隊的首發(fā)，特納相信自己理應得到的年薪比里德的2500萬要高，而后者只是森林狼的替補球員。
